History

  • 1967Family business

    Founded in 1967, Gainerie 91 excels in leather goods, gainerie, sewing, and gilding, with a focus on leather. Since 1972, major luxury houses have placed their trust in them. 50 years later, they remain faithful to Gainerie 91.
  • 2001International expansion

    At the end of 2001, Arnaud Haefelin took over Gainerie 91, creating the Gainerie 91 Group. The establishment of Gainerie 91 Mauritius in March 2002 added expertise in leather covering and noble materials to the existing capacity. Benefiting from AGOA agreements between Africa and the EU, which allow duty-free imports, the workshop quickly grew to ensure flexibility and responsiveness with complete confidentiality.
  • 2004Gainerie 91 New York

    Since the end of 2003, a commercial branch has established its quarters in New York in order to maintain closer proximity to certain clients, major Houses from the American continent, and thus ensure better interactions and effective responses to specific needs.
  • 2006Gainerie 91 Chine

    Gainerie 91 is establishing Gainerie 91 Chine to produce multi-materials on a large scale. Incorporating metal, R&D, and sourcing, the unit works closely with the French development office, ensuring project monitoring from design to production.
  • 2010Integration of woodworking expertise

    With the acquisition of Sejac, the group acquires new expertise in tablet making. This allows us to meet demands, particularly in the wines & spirits sector, with precious boxes in exotic wood veneer and also varnished wood.
  • 2012Certifications

    The Gainerie 91 Group, labeled EPV (Living Heritage Company) since 2012, preserves French craftsmanship and supports artisans. It holds certifications (SA8000, FSC) and supports demanding audits (REACH, CITES) through SMETA 4-pillar covering labor, health, environment, and ethics.
  • 2013Gainerie 91 Suisse

    Gainerie 91 expands its sales department with the acquisition Gainerie 91 Suisse, a sales office located in La Neuveville, Switzerland. Gainerie 91 Suisse works closely with major watchmaking brands on their most ambitious projects, in partnership with large international groups.
  • 2014Design Competition

    Creation of the design competition, it's an opportunity for designers to showcase their creations and participate in innovative projects in the field of design and product conception.
  • 2018Gainerie 91 Portugal

    Creation of the Gainerie 91 Portugal site specialized in "Made in Europe" leather, it benefits from its integration into the EU, guaranteeing export flexibility and fast delivery times for both small and large quantities. It also benefits from a strong industrialization drive, allowing it to absorb numerous products.
  • 2019Integration of know-how with innovative partnerships

    We constantly carry out a broad technological watch and relentlessly study the innovations from French and international start-ups to combine them effectively with the ancestral know-how of Gainerie 91.
  • 2020Gainerie 91 Dongguan

    In 2020, the Gainerie 91 Group opened a sourcing office in Dongguan, China. It facilitates communication with partners inaccessible in Europe, strengthening skills and innovation while ensuring quality and social responsibility.
  • 2021Paris Studio and Showroom

    The Gainerie 91 Group launches a 100m² space in Paris, combining a showroom for clients and a creative studio. Its agile team carries out innovative projects, combining ideation and iteration, design thinking, and prototyping, to meet both internal and external demands.
  • 2022Relocation to Lieusaint

    Gainerie 91 France is relocating to Lieusaint in the Parisian region. With over 4,500 square meters of space, combining space and comfort, the new headquarters of Gainerie 91 Group is an eco-responsible building featuring solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and much more.
  • 2023Gainerie 91 Middle East

    Opening of Gainerie 91 Middle East, a commercial office located in Dubai and dedicated to excellence and innovation in the Middle East. Its strategic and dynamic position represents a natural choice for expanding our presence in this region.
  • 2024External growth

    Minority stake acquisition by the CAPZA fund to strengthen the external growth strategy.
